After scathing critique, Environment chief to protect National Park

Pedernales, Dominican Republic.-  Environment  minister Ángel Estévez on Tues. explained that he seems for actions together with other entities to ensure the safety of Sierra de Bahoruco National Park (southwest).

Following a tour accompanied by several environmentalists from Pedernales and other locations, the formal stated the subsequent phase will be to attract a line of action to regard the Park “with full regard for human dignity.”

Estévez’s assertion will come just days after scathing critique more than his foot-dragging to halt illegal farming in Bahoruco’s southeastern slope, in which a brother of president Danilo Medina is allegedly involved.

Accompanied by Ministry experts Yolanda León president of the conservationist team, Grupo Jaragua, the official mentioned the measures to be taken will result from agreements with the environmentalists who’ve labored in the secured area for many years.

“The protection of all-natural methods is not the Ministry’s job on your own, that is why we want to integrate culture, and primarily the actors linked to the situation.”
